History
In August 1954, government agencies and organizations concerned launched a study on cooperation in connection with development projects in Southeast Asia and other regions and deliberated on the establishment of the Overseas Construction Association of Japan. In December of the year, a meeting of the preparatory committee for the establishment of the Overseas Construction Association of Japan was held.
After meetings of organizers, in February 16, 1955, the Overseas Construction Association of Japan consisting of six related public interest corporations was established as a voluntary organization.
On June 29, 1955, the voluntary association Overseas Construction Association of Japan was dissolved, and The Overseas Construction Association of Japan, Inc. (OCAJI) was established as an incorporated association.
Purpose
The Overseas Construction Association of Japan, Inc. is composed of leading construction companies in Japan, and provides support in the development of overseas activities by Japanese construction companies and the promotion of international cooperation as a representative incorporated association.
The Association aims to support Japanese construction companies in implementing overseas projects, making international contributions through the construction industry's activities, and promoting international exchange and cooperation with other countries.
